Sat for the CompTIA DataSys+ Certification Beta exam today. Got to say it was a bit of a mixed bag. Did the test online through PearsonVue.
Grabbed the Exam Objectives and used that and had Google Gemini generate some example test questions. Thought I was reasonably well prepared for the exam.
The testing software was a bit of a mess. The performance part seemed to be sized for 800x600 or something like that and was almost unreadble on my laptop. Also you couldn't read some of the text with the questions up. Was really annoying, hope they resolve the issue before the exam goes final. So it was a bunch of performance stuff and 116 multiple choice questions. Some of the questions seemed a bit vague.
So completed the exam. Now I get to wait for 2-4 months for my results. Not really sure how I did on the exam.
The exam is available until May 28, 2026 and it only costs $50 since it is in beta. When it goes final it will be the regular $369.00. If I was doing it again knowing the way the online experience I would recommend doing it in person.
