Had a voucher for a free Microsoft/Azure/GitHub exam voucher from their 2026 AI Skills Contest . Decided to try something different this time around and sat for the GitHub Administration (GH-100) exam.
The passing Score was 700 and I got 700. So no room to spare. When I was reviewing my answers I fought the urge to change several answers and that was probably the right thing to do :-)
The test was a lot tougher than I expected. Spent a decent amount of time studying for it so was a bit surprised. Wonder if that is just part of Microsoft changing the exam or if the study guides that I used were out of date, or just bad.
When I signed up I was expecting the test to be a lot more about doing administration of GitHub. Instead it was a lot more about the differences GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES) and GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GEC). Looking back on it I might have done the GitHub Foundations GH-900 exam instead of the GH-100.
The certification appears to be valid for 2 years instead of the 1 year for the regular Azure/Microsoft certifications, with the free renewals. Hoping to get a chance to do a free renewal for it before it expires. If not, don't know if I would pay the fee to renew this certification.
After that I decided to sit for four of the Oracle Foundation Exams and managed to pass all of them, so spent about three hours sitting for exams Friday night.
