Presenting at the Bellevue Amateur Radio Club meeting tomorrow Thursday September 17, 2026. Expect it to go over well with the group. The Bellevue Amateur Radio Club is a pretty welcoming group of people.
This presentation is a mild update of the Alternative Firmware Talk that I presented at the Aksarben Amateur Radio Club. There have been a couple of new firmware releases which are doing things like working on the V3 versions of the Quangsheng UV-k5.
The presentation is a quick introduction to a few of the amazing alternative firmwares available for some of the very inexpensive handhelds including: The Quangsheng UV-k5 the Baofeng DM-1801 and the Tidradio TD-H3 amongst others.
